Today will be full of quizzes! We will take our DLR over four sentences from this week's bellwork. Then students will list and identify the four strategies of a powerful lead--detail, dialogue, inner thinking, and action.
After our quizzes, students will use their writer's checklist to continue working on their powerful personal narratives. By the end of class, students will submit their narrative to be graded on LEAD.
Powerful Lead Objective: I wrote a beginning that not only set the plot/story in motion, but also hinted at the larger meaning the story would convey. It introduced the problem, set the stage for the lesson that would be learned, or showed how the character relates to the setting in a way that matters in the story.
Have a wonderful weekend :)
